What is the Blue Whale Game 50 Tasks

What is the Blue Whale Game

What is the Blue Whale Challenge?

Blue Whale Challenge: It must be noted, however, that there still is no confirmation of the existence of the game, and suicides linked to it are from personal accounts of families/friends of those deceased

The Blue Whale game or Blue Whale Challenge is believed to be a suicide game wherein a group of administrators or a certain curator gives a participant a task to complete daily — for a period of 50 days — the final of which is the participant committing suicide. Participants are expected to share photos of the challenges/tasks completed by them.
These daily tasks start off easy — such as listening to certain genres of music, waking up at odd hours, watching a horror movie, among others, and then slowly escalate to carving out shapes on one’s skin, self-mutilation and eventually suicide.

The Blue Whale Challenge is a game that exists online and sees curators of the game seeking out impressionable teens through social media before subjecting them to a 50-day challenge.
At the end of the challenge, the person is ‘challenged’ to commit suicide.
The person subjected to the challenge must complete each of the disturbing tasks that help the curator manipulate them into finally killing themselves.
Tasks in The Blue Whale Challenge include things like self-harm and waking up in the middle of the night to watch psychedelic horror videos.
A 19-year-old college student found hanging from a ceiling fan in his Madurai home on Wednesday scrawled these lines about the addictive and dangerous Blue Whale Challenge online game responsible for scores of teenage deaths around the world, including India.
J Vighnesh said in his note: “You can enter it, but cannot exit the game.”
He could be Tamil Nadu’s first casualty of the game that provokes players to do self-destructive tasks for 50 days before taking the final step of death by suicide.
Police in the southern state said on Thursday they are investigating the contact numbers on the teenager’s mobile phone and members of a WhatsApp group he was a part of.
According to Madurai police superintendent Manivannan, a tattoo of a whale made using a sharp object was found on his left hand.

The 50 Tasks

Here are the tasks, taken from several sets that were shared and translated on Reddit. If you see any signs that a friend or loved one may be doing the tasks, please talk to them and consult law enforcement and a suicide hotline for help.
Some media reports say that participants are required to send photos to a “curator” or a “whale” proving they did the tasks. The “whale” is often an older person who is manipulating them and does not do the tasks themselves.

  • Write “yes” on the person’s own leg if ready to be a whale. Otherwise, they should cut themselves multiple times.
